It has been a while but it’s finally here. New album is out! “Not so Very Nice” is mostly an accumulation of meaner songs that I wrote in different perriots of my life. I wanted this album to represent the blue collar and hard working people, punch in – punch out kind of struggle.
“Sad Sometimes” starts off with a negative tone of dark thoughts and the pointlessness of everything, but quickly resolves with a slower, more positive ending. The second part of the song gradually emerges into a more comforting feeling that even though there are times when nothing makes sense, there are still many important little things that lift my spirit and happiness that I want to concentrate on more often.
Sometimes I wanna kill myself But someday I’m gonna die anyway So why wouldn’t I just stay for a while
What the point of this When nothing gonna be mine What they screaming for For me it’s only big lie And then you showed me love For us to just simply die
I’m just waiting on Line
So I think to get comfort Of the little things passing by They can often bite your own soul But at the end you’ll be fine
So I think to get comfort Of the little things passing by They can often bite your own soul But at the end you’ll be fine
This one is kind of funny take on immaturity of some man – not in a derogatory way. At the end of the day, all we ever need is love, even “Simple Boys”.
As an uneducated immigrant who came to this country with no money or knowledge of English in my teenage years, the US quickly showed me where my place is. The verses represent this sort of way of being mistreated and the chorus describes that no matter what life throws at me, I’ll always stand my ground and “carry on with my sweetest tone”.
I’ve said it before about previous album, and I’ll say it again: “Closet Leftovers” may not be perfect and polished but it came from the place where no one can put down.

“About two years ago, I moved from Brooklyn to Manhattan, after getting an opportunity to live in affordable housing. When I saw the studio apartment that I got, there was this closet that I immediately envisioned making a little recording studio, which was actually a bad idea, but I was too stubborn to change it since I already decided the album name was going to be called “Closet Leftovers”. Before I even started recording, I already made an album cover which is a picture of a little chair that I screwed into my wall and put my red hat in a doggie bag on top of the chair. I also put white duct tape with the name of the album and Tender Glue, which ended up invisible since I manipulated the picture with exposure afterwards. But if you look closely, you can still see it. It took almost the whole day to take that picture. So now about the recording and why it was a bad idea: Not only can you hear the high pitch static noise and interference in the monitors, you could also hear everything going on including the dishwasher or cell phones. I had to sit on the floor with the mic close to the ground to record vocals because it was the only place that the mic wouldn’t pick up those noises, which I later realized was caused by the electric panel and all the wires that were next to the closet. I tried different options to eliminate the noise but nothing worked. Sometimes it could get claustrophobic and the lack of air didn’t help either, but my vision for the album kept me going.” – Tom GluewickiÂ
“Rudy” and three other singles from upcoming album called “Closet Leftovers” are now available to listen and download on all major stores!! –> http://hyperurl.co/RudySingle
“Rudy” was written about 6 years ago and was inspired by a girl I met once. I had chords and a melody written beforehand and the words came quickly to me. This girl had shown me how she rolls her cigarettes, which was inspiration for the lyrics “And if I go ; Roll one for me; Cigarettes you used to smoke; Hope you will quit”. Although some of the lyrics were based on real scenarios, the whole idea of the song is more of an imagination. I took some of the details of this brief non-intimate meeting and created a story. –>Press Release
Lyrics:
Oh Rudy in your eyes
Oh Rudy in your heart
Oh Rudy in you mind
Stay always on my side
And if I go
Roll one for me
Cigarettes you used to smoke
Hope you will quit
And if I die
Bury me so deep under all our lies
Hope you will quit
Oh Rudy talk to me
With your fluent Japanese
Oh Rudy in your mind
Stay always on my side
And if I go
Roll one for me
Cigarettes you used to smoke
Hope you will quit
And if I die
Bury me so deep under all our lies
Hope you will quit

Five minutes before going to work, I started playing my guitar and wrote down the lyrics, not really thinking about anything (I ended up almost late to work that day). Later on I realized that the part of the lyrics when I say “I’m so slow, I can barely see”, had to do with the time I lost partial vision for a moment, probably due to an unhealthy lifestyle. At that time in my life, I wanted to get healthier, so for me it’s about that. During the recording process, I sat down in my closet/recording studio, and started with vocals and guitar in the same take. Then I added the second guitar, drums, and bass. The whole process took a few days because I was only able to mix part of it when I had the time. Usually it was late, after work around 3am. –>Â Press Release
Lyrics:
Come walk to me
I’m so slow I can barely see
With you here
Feels like I’m in conscious dream
So stay with me
I’m ok I’ll always be
With you here
Feels like I’m in conscious dream
